PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Pisake

Professor Pisake Lumbiganon is the Principal Investigator for the SEA-ORCHID Project in Thailand. His role is to provide project coordination for Thailand and work with the other investigators to determine the overall direction of the research. Professor Lumbiganon is currently the Director of Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University and the Convenor of the Thai Cochrane Network.

PROJECT ADMINISTRATORS

Rabiab

Ms Natthaleeya Narash and Ms Rabieb Poombankor are the Project Administrators for the SEA-ORCHID Project in South East Asia. Their role is to provide administrative support to the Thai Project Coordinator and Country Investigator at both an international and national level.



Ms Narash and Ms Poombankor are also assisting with the data entry and data checking of primary outcome data collected at the three Thai project sites, as well as providing support to the activities of the Thai Cochrane Network.

CLINICAL EDUCATORS

The Clinical Educators are members of an education team located across South-East Asia and Australia. This team is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of educational interventions aimed at increasing knowledge and skills in evidence-based practice and building research capacity amongst health professionals in the areas of maternal and child health.

The education team is also responsible for identifying and training other health professionals to plan and deliver ongoing educational activities in their local areas. The education team will also be assisting the Country Investigators in the development and maintenance of formal and informal networks of clinicians in South East Asia to establish a culture embracing evidence-based practice.

Associate Professor Jadsada Thinkhamrop is the SEA-ORCHID Clinical Educator at Srinagarind Hospital (Khon Kaen University Hospital). She has experience in clinical research in collaboration with the Global Network for Perinatal and Reproductive Health (GHPRH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). She is presently Director of Clinical Epidemiology Unit at Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

Dr Ussanee Swapanich is the SEA-ORCHID Clinical Educator at Khon Kaen Regional Hospital. She is an obstetrician and member of the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has also obtained the Diplomate Thai Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr Bunpode Suwannachat is the SEA-ORCHID Clinical Educator at Kalasin General Hospital. He is the Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has memberships with professional societies including the Thai Medical Association and the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His review of risk factors for birth asphyxia in Kalasin Hospital was published in the Srinagarind Hospital Medicine Journal (SHMJ) in 2004.
