Khon Kaen University
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University is the coordinating centre for the SEA-ORCHID Project in Thailand. There are three sites for collection of primary and secondary outcomes: Srinagarind Hospital (Khon Kaen University Hospital), Khon Kaen Regional Hospital and Kalasin General Hospital.

Khon Kaen University is the only medical school in northeastern Thailand that offers all medical specialties standard for the community. In addition to providing medical services and producing experienced and skilled medical and public heath personnel in the region, research in the Faculty of Medicine is community-oriented in order to address major local health issues. There are now 13 research groups in the Faculty.
Moreover the Faculty is home to the Thai Cochrane Network, the first branch of the Cochrane Collaboration in the South East Asia region. The Network was established in 2001 and is supported by the Department of Reproductive Health and Research (World Health Organization) and the UK and Australasian Cochrane Centres. Srinagarind Hospital is the site of the Thai node office for the SEA-ORCHID Project in Thailand and main site for collection of primary and secondary outcomes. Srinagarind Hospital is one of the most modern and prestigious hospitals in the country, providing a wide range of services to the Thai community. The workload information for Srinagarind Hospital in 2004 was 33,019 inpatients, 513,711 outpatients and 2,781 births. At present the number of beds is 795. Khon Kaen Regional Hospital
