Dr Jackie Ho

Dr Jackie Ho is the
Country Investigator for the SEA-ORCHID Project
in Malaysia. Jackie’s role is to provide
project co-ordination for Malaysia and work with
the other investigators to determine the overall
direction of the research. |
Jackie is a Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics at the
Department of Paediatrics, Penang Medical College. Her current research
projects are as follows:
- Epidemiology of Birth Defects: A population based
study
- The Role of Maternal Haemoglobin and Antepartum
Foetal Death
- Building evidence based research and practice
in South East Asia: Impact on pregnancy and childbirth
care and outcomes

Clinical Educators
Educators are part of an education team
located across South-East Asia and Australia. This
team is responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation
of educational interventions aimed at increasing knowledge
and skills in evidence-based practice and building
research capacity amongst health professionals in
the areas of maternal and child health.
The education team is also responsible for identifying
and training other health professionals to plan and
deliver ongoing educational activities in their local
areas. The education team will also be assisting the
Country Investigators in the development and maintenance
of formal and informal networks of clinicians in South
East Asia to establish a culture embracing evidence-based
practice.

Swi Sim Cham is the SEA-ORCHID Project Research Officer. Her main role is to undertake data collection for the project in Malaysia. Swi Sim responsible for collecting and submitting data on current practice during pregnancy and childbirth, and assisting with efforts to identify current activities in, and attitudes towards, evidence-based practice
